Correcting a car's details, and where its mileage comes from
Fix a VIN, plate, colour or unit number on the car's Vehicle info tab. The Mileage log lists every odometer reading, including the one written on each ticket.

Step 1: Open the car
From Vehicles or the owner's page, open the vehicle.
Step 2: Open the editor
Choose Edit vehicle from the … menu beside New estimate, or open the Vehicle info tab and press Edit vehicle under the car's details.
Step 3: Correct what is wrong and save
Change any of VIN, year, make, model, submodel, engine, colour, plate, plate region, unit number and type, then press Save vehicle. Plates and VINs are stored in capitals with the spaces taken out of a VIN, the same way a new car is stored.
Changing the VIN clears the stored decode, because it described the old number. Every change is kept on the audit trail with what the field said before and after.
The Mileage log
The Mileage log tab lists every odometer reading the car has, newest first: the ones typed into the log, and the reading written on each ticket at check-in and at hand-back, named by the ticket it came from. A car that went home with the same reading it arrived with shows it once.
