Shop papers are the release, repair authorization, storage notice, customer-supplied-parts acknowledgement, and other documents a shop presents separately from an estimate or invoice. Open Settings > Shop papers to keep the set for this location.
Step 1: Add the starting set
Press Suggest the standard set. Every suggested paper is added off, not published.
Step 2: Review the customer-facing text
Edit the English title and text. You may also add both a Spanish title and Spanish text. A customer whose portal is resolved as Spanish sees that version; when either Spanish field is missing, Torqix shows the English paper with a Spanish note saying so. Tokens such as the shop, customer, vehicle, order, and date are filled only when a copy is presented; the shop name is never baked into a shared default.
Step 3: Choose whether it needs a name
Leave Requires a typed signature selected when the customer must sign. The typed name is the signature; a drawn mark is only additional evidence.
Step 4: Turn on the paper
Press the paper's Turn on control only after review. Turning it off removes it from presentation without changing a copy that was already signed.
Step 5: Present it from the customer record
Open the customer's Orders tab, find Papers, and press the Present control for the paper. Torqix fills the shop, customer, vehicle, order, and date from the records you selected before showing the words on the shop's device.
Step 6: Ask the customer to sign
The customer types their name, which is the signature. They may also draw a mark, but the drawing is optional. Press Sign and keep this paper to make a new frozen record.
Step 7: Send it to the customer's phone
Choose Send to phone from the customer's Papers panel or a signed-paper record. Torqix puts a single-use link in the existing message composer; check the words and press Send. The ordinary per-number SMS consent check still decides whether the text may leave.
Step 8: Open or print the signed copy
The signed record opens after signing. It also stays under Signed copies in the customer's Papers panel, newest first. When the signed PDF is prepared, it is filed with the customer and, when the paper names an order, on that order's Files tab. The receipt says whether the PDF is ready; if preparation failed, it says the signature is still on the shop's record and tells the customer to ask the shop for a copy. Open the filed record and press Print view when a paper copy is needed.
A signed copy does not follow the template
At signing time Torqix freezes the rendered title and text in the language the customer read and records a SHA-256 fingerprint, typed name, optional drawn mark, time, device request details, and the staff member who presented it. A later English or Spanish template edit changes the next presentation only. Signed rows are append-only: a correction is another signed record, never an edit to the first one.
A customer opening the phone link reads the same filled, frozen words, types their name, and may add a drawn mark. The link expires and can sign only once. The signed record says whether it was completed in the shop or by phone.
The phone signature is bound to the exact title and rendered words the customer read, including the paper's fingerprint and the shop-local date shown on that open page. If the template changes before they submit, Torqix refuses the old signature in words and asks them to reload, read the current paper, and sign again. A signed state comes only from the stored signature row; adding a signed-looking address to the link cannot create one.
