Getting a texting number from Torqix

Torqix can get your shop its own local texting number and register it with US carriers. Ask support; there is no account to open and nothing to paste.

Instead of a Twilio or Telnyx account of your own, Torqix can get your shop a number: it opens a texting account in your business's name, buys a local number, sets up sending and files your business details with carriers. You do not press anything in Torqix for this — ask Torqix support through Contact support. Carriers will want the legal business name exactly as on your IRS letter, the EIN (or that you have none), your website and a contact person.

Once it is yours, Settings › Text messaging shows the number as your Sending number with From Torqix beside it, and the test text works through it straight away. Carrier registration says in progress while carriers decide, usually 1–3 days. Torqix checks with carriers every hour; when they approve, registration is marked done by itself and the “Texting isn't registered yet.” notice leaves your conversations.

  • Asking again while carriers decide does nothing: Torqix never buys a second number or files twice.
  • The EIN is kept only until carriers have it, then erased; only its last four digits are kept.
  • Torqix writes your registration in your shop's name: your shop is the brand on every sample text, and the opt-in wording is the sentence your work request form already shows customers. It never changes any customer's permission to be texted.
  • Carrier fees, recorded for your bill: the number $1.15 a month, the brand $4.50 once, campaign review $15 once, and the campaign $1.50 a month. A fix that carriers review again is charged again.
